Shaun is a long time student of a great deal of wisdom traditions, schools of philosophy, and creative expressions. If there is anything precious to his practice, it is that truth lies in the tension between apparent opposites. His practice incorporates an intellectual humility that insists above all, that we can't ever really know anything, but we still need to try. Curiosity, sincerity, play, compassion; all become great virtues in response to this understanding. Maintaining the beginners mind—a sense of wonder—is one of the chief practices.

Shaun’s work draws from contemplative traditions, philosophy, and lived experience, with particular influence from Buddhism, Taoism, and existential thought.
